No bones about it.

Neal recently brought home some huge beef knuckle bones for the dogs.  We were surprised to see that both Captain and George were so overwhelmed with the size of the bones that they refused to chew them.  But Nadia, on the other hand, dove in face first and chewed on hers for hours.  And when she had done sufficient damage to her bone, she went after Captain's and George's bones!  Within days, the once-huge, intact bones were downsized considerably to smaller portions.  One day this week, I walked in the door to find this scene...

After giving me the proper "welcome home" greeting, Nadia settled back into her bed and began searching for just the right bone piece to attack.  It didn't take long for one to catch her eye...

And all the while, a pitiful red dog lurked in the distance, waiting for just the right opportunity...

which presented itself when something else demanded Nadia's attention and she left her post.

Every time I look at the sight of all those bones in our living room, I am reminded of a cemetery gone bad....eeewww!

The queen of the castle!

Just want to throw in there that bones are GREAT but I'm too nervous to leave Wyatt alone with one. They can break off and perforate an esophagus or stomach lining, so I always make sure I'm around when he's chewing them.

Keep in mind that German Shepherds go through bones like butter though.

Just be careful with them.
