Chicken Cocaine

We have discovered that the chicks really love bird seed! Neal uses it to lure them out of the run, into the run, and all around the yard when he wants to see their little, fluffy butts in motion. He's even trained them to eat out of his hand without drawing any blood!

At the time I shot this video, the dogs were on the patio with us, eating their dinner. The clankity-clanking sounds you hear are their collars and tags hitting the food bowls. We try to keep it real around here...

Okay, so be honest. Who wanted the chickens more...you or Neal? :-)

How fabulous! I absolutely, positively love it. You and Neal are such good chicken parents! I want chickens now! :) It sounds like they were "begging" a little bit too... too cute. And I love how they are each a different color... what an adorable menagerie.

I love the sound chickens make when they're munching on something they love. Mine are crazy for grapes. They also love frozen corn (I thaw it a little) and they will come in from far and wide to get their share. Enjoy your hens!

Marcee...ha, ha! The chickens were my idea... but as you can see, Neal is just as enamored with them!

Justina...thanks! I think you need chickens to add to your menagerie. Every farm needs chickens, right? Yes, they were begging - or fussing - b/c Neal was too slow!

Anonymous...thanks for visiting and for making a comment. I love their chicken chatter too! I hadn't thought about frozen corn. Will have to try some of that!

I love your chickens! They are very cute. I love their colors. We often give our chickens frozen corn that's been thawed (that's their fav treat), and broccoli (they really loved fighting with broccoli when they were little baby chicks). My husband is just as enamored with the chickens as I am, too!
