Where Did November Go?

I look at the calendar and realize today is the last day of November, and I wonder....where the heck did this month go?

Then I remind myself that I spent 3 weeks of this month as a juror on a double homicide case. This was my first-ever jury experience and a very intense and emotional one it was. And on top of that, I suffered through what I think was a bout of food poisoning last weekend. I can't remember when, if ever, I have been so violently ill.

Thank goodness I was feeling better in time to eat two Thanksgiving meals, lovingly prepared by dear friends who included me in on their celebrations while Neal was with his folks in Baton Rouge. And the court case is behind me, although not forgotten. I have come to realize that what I experienced in that courtroom made a huge impact on me. I learned things about the human condition that I would have rather not known. But most importantly, I was reminded how good my life is and how very precious each and every moment is. And that is something to be thankful for on a daily basis, not just once a year.

So sorry you were ill, but glad you recovered in time to enjoy Thanksgiving.

I've always said I would not want to be a juror on a homicide case or any case that involved a violent crime. Luckily, my juror cases have involved bad checks and drug charges.

Wow. Very profound thoughts. I can't even imagine as I've never been a juror....and really don't want to. bah.

You left a comment on my blog asking if I had more pics of our ranch without snow. Why, yes I do. Hundreds and hundreds actually. lol! I've been blogging for over 3 years so I've taken photos during every season times 3! haha!

Come back and visit and check 'em out sometime.

SVB...I wasn't too thrilled about the court case, but it was definitely an educational experience! I hope my next jury duty is short and sweet like yours have been!

Daune...same to you, a bit tardy!

Lisa....thanks for stopping by! I had never been called for jury selection until this time and boy was it a doozy! I've been following your blog for a while, but hadn't noticed any pictures of the chicken coop until recently. I'll have to go back and search some more.
