Pay It Forward

My online buddy, Penny, at Back to Basic Living recently posted a Pay It Forward challenge on her website and I joined in. You can read about Penny's Pay It Forward experience and her personal challenge on her blog using the link above.

The concept of Pay It Forward is quite simple. According to Wikipedia.com, it involves asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead. More specifically, it involves the option of "paying" the debt forward by lending it to a third person instead of paying it back to the original creditor. One good deed deserves another, you know?

So as not to reinvent the wheel, I will stick to Penny's instructions for the challenge. The rules are 1) you must have a blog, 2) you must post about this challenge on your blog, and 3) you must pay it forward to 5 other people.

As Penny so eloquently stated, "The gift you offer doesn’t have to be something you make. You can offer anything you like. It certainly doesn’t need to be expensive. I’ve read other blogs that offered chocolate candy, a book, fruit, items unique to the blogger’s region, etc. The purpose is not to see who can come up with the most wonderful gift, but rather to brighten someone’s day with a small act of kindness."

Since I am not very crafty, you will NOT receive a handmade item from me (lucky you!). What you will receive is a package of a veggie dip made by Colorado Gourmet Farms, and a packet of wildflower seeds. And, you will only receive my Pay It Forward gifts if you are one of the first 5 people to leave a comment to this post and qualify using the rules above. I will then send you a personal email so I can get your mailing address. And even if you don't have a blog and can't participate in this challenge, you can still Pay It Forward to those around you.

Let the comments begin!
