New

This is my new toy...

Which I hope to use for veggies that will be grown in my new garden boxes...

These are my new tulips that should be in full bloom soon...

And here are new onion sprouts from the bulbs we planted just 9 days ago...
And did you notice the new header picture on my blog? Those deer were on our property and are representative of the wildlife that abounds on our little ranchette. Don't you just love all this "newness"?

Wow! We have some things in common! I have that canning set...we are in the middle of making our new garden beds....and my onions are sprouting, too!(altho not from bulbs!)

Happy gardening and canning to you. I love to can.

frugalmom, I am totally new to canning, so I may need some pointers from you, and anyone else with experience.

Looking forward to seeing your gardening and canning photos.

Best wishes to you, too!

hmmm, jon has been trying to get me interested in canning and he is starting to wear me down :)

you will have to keep us all updated on how your canning goes - i might have to get tips from you :)

I'll be happy to share any tips, as well as flops that I encounter along the way. It will be interesting, for sure! I bet Arnetta has some canning hints for us.

However, if you are going to get into canning, you will need to tell Jon to plant you more than 3 tomato plants!!!

The deer are beautiful! I really like your new header.

It's funny, I actually wrote several new pages for my website on food preservation last year - water bath canning, pressure canning, dehydrating, and freezing - complete with pictures for the step by step - but I'm so worried about being sued from someone doing it wrong, that I haven't put it up! I have been canning for over 20 years and NEVER had an issue, but some people these days seem to want to blame anyone but themselves for their mistakes..... you know?

Happy canning - can't wait to see pictures of those beautiful canning jars full of fresh veggies in your pantry!

Penny, why don't you put a disclaimer releasing you from liability on your website, along with the tutorials?

I would love to see step-by-step instructions with photos of all the things you mentioned. And, I promise not to sue you!

Ooooh, I love love love cannning! We used to do a bunch of it for veggies and fruit. Our neighbors used to can their own albacore, and it was SO good!

Canning is awesome, I really miss it. Have fun!

Wow, Rene, we will have to talk more about canning...especially the albacore tuna! I am hoping I can do everything right and not give anyone botulism!
