We have decided this will be the year we move to The Ranch. The crummy economy and some other twists of fate were just the push we needed to get serious. We purchased the property in 2008, and spent 2009 and 2010 preparing it for habitation. All that is really needed are some window treatments and connecting the fireplace in the garage. And we need to order the rest of the components to complete our solar system. It will be a tight squeeze for the two of us and all of our critters, but when we think of folks who are forced to live in tents, FEMA trailers and deplorable conditions, we feel blessed that we have a nice, cozy ranch house with all modern amenities in one of the most beautiful places on earth. And best of all, we will have no house note and no utility bills. I can't wait!
So, the adventure begins. Stay tuned for updates as time and energy allow.
