The comforts of home

We have been steadily working on making The Ranch cabin like a home, and it's really coming along!  Neal recently designed and built kitchen cabinets that look great and will give us lots of needed storage...

Our neighbors, Herm and Eileen, gave us their old washing machine when they bought a new one...

which we can use thanks to this monster generator.  It weighs approximately 200 pounds, and I have to pull it out and in each time I stay at The Ranch by myself...

Neal tried to make it easier for me to manage by building a ramp and leveling a spot right outside the door for it to sit.

It is so worth it to have a hot shower, hot coffee, freshly toasted bread...
and a microwave to quickly heat things instead of cranking up the stove.

And if all that wasn't fancy enough, we have this sofa bed from our friends, Bogie and Jeanette, that sleeps pretty darn comfortably thanks to the addition of a foam mattress topper.

That handy man-of-mine even built us a nifty coat rack from a piece of pine and some hooks that we picked up at a flea market.

We now have a place to hang our hats and coats.  I would say that's a definite sign of home.
Yes indeed, The Ranch is starting to look and feel a lot like home!

You just need a couple of cats and it will be perfect.

It looks so cozy and comfortable. I bet you are just loving it there. I LOVE the cabinets Neal built. Those are just wonderful. I thought you had electric there? But I guess not if you use a generator?

I just love your place. It is so natural looking.
Great job on the cabinets and that coat hanger is way cool.
And that view is beautiful.
