More Progress at The Ranch

Neal spent a few days at The Ranch last week, finishing with the tile-laying and most of the grouting. He also moved our phone from the garage into the apartment and finished trimming the windows and doors. Here are some pics of the progress...

This is the window in the kitchen. Can't wait until I can one day stand at my stove and look out at the valley below as I cook a meal!

Lilla, the tiles are great, and Neal, you are a wonder worker... I have done tile on a much smaller scale 25+ years ago, and I can appreciate the work involved. The tile laying was not as bad as the grouting was for me.
The ranch is really looking good, I'm sure you can't wait to really be "at home" and cooking there in your kitchen and enjoying the beautiful scenery :-)

It is all coming together!!!!! You even have a phone now. :-) I love the color of the tiles. Is that a pellet stove, Lilla?

That is an incredible view you guys have from your window!!! How far is this country home from where you currently live?

Arnetta...thanks. Yes, Neal did a really nice job and it was a lot of work. Not sure I'll ever get him to lay tile again!

Marcee...We've had a phone out in the garage but Neal had to run the line into the apartment area. Now we're really uptown! The stove is a wood stove, not a pellet. Pellet stoves use electricity and since we are planning on going solar, that wouldn't be our best choice.

Danni...the views are awesome. I never get tired of them. The Ranch property is just under 2 hours from our city place.

But can he make jewelry?

I love your tile. And the view from your window is incredible. I can tell that you and Neal have done a lot of hard work on the place. You are going to really enjoy The Ranch when you finish.

Hey what's that rectangular white box thing on the wall with the squiggly cord coming out of it?

Wow. Neal is doing an amazing job! I know it seems like forever to you, but I think you've both done a lot of work in a relatively short period of time - especially considering you are limited on when you can work on it! That view out the kitchen window looks like a painting! So very pretty and calming. One day that will be the backdrop of your day-to-day life.... yay!

Jane (or is that you, Joe?)....I'm sure Neal could make jewelry if he tried! That hasn't been one of his great desires to date!

SVB...thanks! Yes, the views are spectacular at The Ranch and throughout the surrounding city. It's been a lot of work, but so worth it!

Rene....ha! That white thing is called a telephone...the old fashioned kind with a cord, remember those? At least it's not a rotary dial.

Penny...thanks! Yes, Neal is doing an awesome job especially considering he's attempting tasks he's never done before. The thought of that view becoming a part of my day-to-day life is very exciting. One day soon, I hope.

Beautiful scenery! Love, love the paneling. So, when is the move in date? I bet you can't hardly wait!

AJ-OAKS...thanks for the compliments. Not sure yet about a move in date. Lots of things up in the air. We have to rent out our house in the city first, plus downsize a LOT of our stuff. We're hoping by the end of the summer, but that is subject to change.
