Looking Like A Home

Thanks to a hand-me-down sleeper sofa from our friends, a rug from Neal's parents, and my family's chair and coffee table, The Ranch is really starting to look like a home!

Now, if we could just figure out how to unfreeze the pipes so we can bathe while we're there at Christmas...

I am so excited for you. It is just beautiful.

It is supposed to be in the single digits again this week so it is not looking good for the pipes. Have a great Christmas!!! and let's get together after the new year.

It looks so cozy!!! I bet you can't wait to spend Christmas there. Take a blow dryer - I swear by blow dryer to deice things....

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

Susie....we are pretty excited too. It seems like we've been working on this project forever, but it's only been about 8 months!

Yeah about the pipes. I'm thinking we'll have to forget bathing, but at least we'll be warm with our wood stove!

Merry Christmas to you, too. Definitely let's get together soon.

Penny...Thanks. Cozy is a good description for it. We are excited about spending Christmas there, even if we don't have running water. We've already got so many more conveniences than our ancestors had, so I think we will be just fine....but I'll be sure to keep that hair dryer idea in mind!

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Hope you are able to plow your way out of your homestead!

It does look like a comfortable getaway cabin
Have a Merry Christmas in the mountains !!

do your 4-legged kids go with you for the holiday ?

I'd take a portable quartz heater it take the chill off while the wood stove was getting started, and put in the bathroom to help with the pipe freezing problem..

Arnetta...we do have a couple of portable heaters that we can take. Thanks for the reminder! Yes, the pups will be going with us and they are very excited! :) I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas in the south!

Rene...thanks! I am sure it will be a memorable Christmas...I just hope it's in a good way! And you're right, bathing is highly overrated! Happy Holidays to you and Jim.

Penny. Totally took the words right outta my mouth. *I* was gonna say how cozy that little place looked. I love seeing the sunshine coming in thru the windows and landing on the floor like that.
Hope you have a great holiday there.

Marcee...thanks! We intentionally built with the largest window to the south for solar gain, and it is delightful when the sun beams in like that! You have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!
