Corn Dogs

Ahhh, what says summer better than fresh corn on the cob? This time of year, we like to eat most of our meals outside (if the weather cooperates) and we tend to grill outside a lot. No matter whether it's grilled or boiled, we've discovered the pups like to nibble fresh corn on the cob, too! Captain is especially good at it and will move from side to side while one of us holds the cob and turns it for him. Nadia and George act like they're interested, but they can't get the hang of it like Captain. They would rather just take the whole cob off and chew it to bits! I know corn is not exactly good for dogs, but they only get small amounts, after we've eaten our share, and it brings them so much pleasure!

Yeah, he's pretty talented, isn't he? Makes a momma proud.

I never had a dog that ate corn. Your dogs are talented and so cute!

Thank you, Sweet Virginia. They are our babies.

Actually, a lot of dry dog foods contain corn as a filler, which makes some dogs allergic. If you feed a regular commercial dry dog food, your dogs may be eating corn and you just don't know it!

That sweet. Im almost certain that our little pup would try to snatch that cob and run off with it!

That is so darn cute! Our pups like corn - but I've never tried feeding it to them on the cob. I may need to give that a shot. But I'm kinda with Frugalmom and envision them snatching that cob and taking off with the bounty!

There have been a couple of occasions where they actually did get whole cobs and gnawed them to death. Needless to say, we found the evidence in their poop!
