Sunday Funny

A few of our cats go outside when we are home and can supervise them. They mostly stay in our fenced in backyard, lounge in the sun, and stalk squirrels and birds. Tabitha, our 16-year-old, partially blind and mobility-impaired cat likes to roll around on the patio and in the dirt, drink from the water trough at the back door, and snoop around the yard for something exciting. Well today, she found something exciting indeed!

The video below is of Tabitha and the resident squirrel we call Mama. Moments before I let Tabitha out, the squirrel had taken a peanut from Neal and wandered off to eat it. As I was sitting at the kitchen table browsing the Internet, I caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye. I turned to find Tabitha chasing Mama squirrel in circles all over our patio! They were within millimeters of each other! I jumped up and screamed, thinking there was surely going to be blood shed. Neal jumped up and went out to witness, as I kept the dogs contained inside and handed him the camera. The video is a bit shaky in places because this is an action film, but there's enough to give you a good idea of just how spunky our old, disabled, petite Tabitha really is.

Once I realized it was all fun and games and no one was going to get hurt, I laughed so hard I almost wet myself!
